How to Care for Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas give an old-fashioned, classic feel to any landscape. If you want your hydrangea bush to grow lots of beautiful flowers, choose a hydrangea type that does not require a lot of sun or shade (one that can thrive in either condition). Put your hydrangea where you won't need to prune it, and place it in soil that drains easily. Be sure to add good organic material where needed.

You should not plant your hydrangea any deeper than it was growing in the pot. Avoid planting it under trees, because the roots will compete for moisture. Be sure to water when needed, but don't let water stand around your plants because it might cause root rot.
